Ammonite Necklace

The pendant on this necklace is a pyratized ammonite fossil, which means during it's history the shell material was slowly replaced by pyrite mineral. This is a natural process, somewhat like petrified wood, but this pendant is extremely fragile.  It hangs in a sterling wire cage but needs to be protected from bumps and bangs.
